Hosting and Cultural Advice for Hosts
Here is a document with a few learnings and tips we have found so far
Picking Up Guests from Manchester Airport
It seems that there are Welcome Desks at Manchester Airport (at least at Terminal 3) . These are worth a visit and will provide at least a Tesco Mobile sim with 3 months free calls and texts. They will talk to hosts and let them pick up welcome packs on their behalf so worth a visit.
When meeting Ukrainians from Manchester airport the parking is free. Drive up to the barrier and tell them you are collecting your guests and they should let you through.

Chasing a Visa
Once you or your potential Ukrainian guests apply for a visa you fall into a ‘black hole’ with little or no communication. If you hear nothing for at least a week then you can apply some pressure on the local MPs who can chase the current progress of the application.
You need to provide a specific amount of information:

Bringing in Pets from Ukraine
Quarantine for pets in the worst case can take up to 4 months depending primarily on the rabies status of the pet and when they had their Rabies shots. However, quarantine cost s including shots and health checks will be a free service.
If your guest(s) have a pet that they wish to bring with them to Cheshire East, the UK government’s Animal and Plant Health Agency will provide quick approvals and relevant quarantine arrangements, for which the government will cover the costs. Before arriving they or their carrier should contact the Animal and Plant Health Agency - more information is available here:Homes for Ukraine scheme: frequently asked questions - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
At a practical level feedback has highlighted that Pets with full documentation can ‘fast track’ quarantine. The main issue is the threat of Rabies and tests will be done to validate Rabies inoculation. Should this be validated then this, according to feedback, will reduce quarantine duration. One piece of advice was to get pets a rabies shot as they wait for the Visa Application to be process to help reduce the time.
